Seatrium Offshore Technology is by far the world’s largest designer of jackup drilling units, representing approximately 60% of the designs currently operational worldwide. With the design strength of three leading brands, we are building this strong legacy and pushing forward into new areas with our combined expertise. Supporting the energy transition in both traditional and new energies, our team is ready with designs for Jackups, Wind Turbine Installation Vessels, Self-Installing Platforms and Repurposing solutions to meet the changing needs of the offshore industries. Whether you are looking for an off-the-shelf design or have an unusual problem to address, our design team has the knowledge and experience ready to deliver high value solutions.
Our jackup designs have been the backbone of the oil and gas markets for many years. From the worlds first independent 3-Legged Jackup, the scorpion, delivered to George Bush’s Zapata Offshore in 1955, to the legendary 116, B class and Pacific Class jackups that have defined the market, to the Gorilla and N-Class designs that have pushed the envelope further, SOT designs are working in every major area of the globe. Leveraging on this history, we are now pushing into new designs under the SOT brand, to define the next generation of drilling units.
The needs of the wind industry are continually evolving and each WTIV operator will take a slightly different approach. We provide designs addressing the key drivers of the industry while maintaining room to accommodate client specific requirements.
As the fleet of jackups expands, and some move out of regular service, we have worked with clients to give these units a fresh lease of life in new roles. Whether you are planning a custom newbuild or repurposing an existing unit our team has the knowledge and experience to design and deliver high value solutions. Such designs also extend beyond jackups, with past projects including a range of platform types, and environments, including ice resistant platforms.
